The Venice Biennale is the world's most important contemporary art exhibition, founded in 1895. Every two years, 90 countries install national pavilions in the Giardini and Arsenale. The 2026 edition opens in April and runs until November. The Arsenale — the medieval shipyard of the Republic — is the most spectacular exhibition space ever to host contemporary art.
