The ghost month in the Vietnamese lunar calendar. Families burn paper offerings — bills, houses, cars and miniature luxury objects — for their ancestors. In the temples of the old quarter and in the markets this practice can be seen every night for weeks. A collective ritual mixing Buddhism, Taoism and local animist traditions.
