One of the most colourful carnivals in Peru, with traditional Andean dances, comparsas, water and flour battles (the Andean carnival game, taken seriously here — wear clothes you don't mind getting wet), and the Unshu, a tree laden with gifts that is knocked down collectively on the main day.
